•Average global temperatures: 2022 was the sixth-hottest year on record, 0.86 degrees C warmer than the 20th-century average. 

•The concentration of carbon dioxide (CO₂) in our atmosphere: it has reached the highest in human history in 2022, 421 parts per million.

•Planetary boundaries: six of the nine boundaries are transgressed suggesting that Earth is now well outside of the safe operating space for humanity.
